Portfolio for Italian Non-Governmental Organization CVG’s (GVC-Gruppo di Volontariato Civile) project “Ensuring durable solutions for conflict induced IDPs (internally displaced persons) living in Pashtun Zargun District in the Province of Herat through the establishment of income generation activities based on agriculture and animal husbandry” financed by UNHCR (United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees).
Beneficiaries of the project are 500 IDP families living in the middle of nowhere in a desert of stone and sand, with no toilets, no schools, no work, no sanitary assistance, no assistance at all from the Afghan government. They only eat bread. These portraits are of some of them.
